Ms Glaudina Loots, Director of Special Projects in the Office of the President of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), was a guest of Nandi Joubert at Swiss TPH.

Nandi Joubert, PhD candidate at Swiss TPH and researcher within the UNESCO Chair on ‘Physical Activity and Health in Educational Settings’, recently hosted Ms Glaudina Loots, Director of Special Projects in the Office of the President at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), during her visit to the Swiss TPH. As part of the visit, Joubert provided a tour of Swiss TPH and led an exchange on ongoing Swiss–South African research in under-resourced school settings.

The discussion highlighted findings on the intersecting burden of cardiometabolic, behavioural, and psychosocial risk among teachers, as well as early cardiovascular risk observed in children. The meeting also created space to reflect on future opportunities for collaboration within the existing Swiss TPH-SAMRC partnership framework.
