We are pleased to share the publication of an excellent MSc thesis by David Suter, University of Basel, completed within the framework of the UNESCO Chair on 'Physical Activity and Health in Educational Settings'.

The MSc thesisEffectiveness of QPE-Aligned School-Based Physical Activity Interventions in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Systematic Comparative Review of Randomised Controlled Trials” examines the contribution of UNESCO's Quality Physical Education (QPE) framework to tackling three pressing global challenges: physical inactivity, mental health, and educational inequality. Drawing on current scientific evidence, the study highlights the role of inclusive, equitable, and high quality physical education in promoting children's holistic development and lifelong health.

The thesis is an outstanding contribution to the growing evidence base for Quality Physical Education and further supports the UNESCO Chair's mission to strengthen research, policy, and practice for quality physical education in schools and educational settings worldwide.
